WAXING

Benzocaine is primarily used to take care of various pains on the surface of the body such as burns, skin irritations, sunburn, irritation from sore throat and teething, ingrown toenails, vaginal or rectal irritation or even hemorrhoids. It is also used in some ear drops to care for impacted ear wax and ear irritation. It is also used to alleviate pains caused by toothache and other dental conditions or to treat skin conditions such as canker sores and warts.
It is also at times administered to numb the vagina or rectum prior to insertion of probes, tubes or other tools to reduce discomfort.
No matter what preparation of benzocaine is used, always pursue precisely instructions for use described in the label or as prescribed by the doctor.

Bikini and Brazilian Waxes
Wax contains benzocaine that is released over time in a controlled manner. Apply benzocaine onto the skin until it becomes numb. It will be absorbed into the skin in about 5-10 minutes but for best results you must wait the full 40-45 minutes before waxing. Since the Benzocaine does absorb into the skin it will not interfere with any waxing techniques. If there is any white reside left on the skin a simple alcohol wipe or pre-cleanse before waxing is recommended.
Benzocaine contain lidocaine which is Dr. Numb has its content. Dr. Numb™ contains lidocaine, a substance that has been used for many years as anesthetics in medical and dental offices. Dr. Numb contains more of a pure form of lidocaine which acts as the numbing anesthetic cream for the skin. The purity is very important, because not all lidocaine is manufactured and refined as Dr. Numb has been. Pain is caused by the stimulation of pain receptors at the ends of the nerves. The stimulation causes sodium to enter the nerve ending, which causes an electrical signal to build up in the nerve. When this electrical signal is big enough, it passes along the nerve to the brain, where the signal is interpreted as pain.Dr. Numb™ works by temporarily blocking this pathway of pain signals along nerves. Dr. Numb numbing anesthetic cream does this by stopping the sodium entering the nerve ending at the site of the pain. This prevents an electrical signal building up and passing along the nerve fibers to the brain.
